A free Navajo Drum Circle and Dance opens Summerfest 2026 at Bountiful Town Square Thursday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m., launching a three-day celebration of music, dance and visual art organized by the Bountiful Davis Art Center.

The kickoff event, called Summerfest Eve, is presented in partnership with Bountiful City as part of the city's America 250 commemoration. The full festival continues Friday, Aug. 7, and Saturday, Aug. 8, from noon to 8 p.m. at Bountiful City Park, 200 West 400 North. Admission is free all three days.

This year's theme is E Pluribus Unum, "Out of Many, One," tying the festival to the nationwide celebration of the nation's 250th anniversary.

"Summerfest reflects what we believe at the Bountiful Davis Art Center: that the arts can honor distinct histories and traditions while creating a shared sense of belonging," Executive Director Sarina Villareal Ehrgott said in a statement announcing the festival.

Two days of global performances

Friday's stage opens at noon with Honey Duval & Native Youth, a Diné singer, storyteller and powwow dancer, followed at 1 p.m. by N8tive Hoop, a family of world-champion hoop dancers who weave storytelling and songs into their act. The Utah Alp Horns, a traditional Swiss alpine horn ensemble, take the stage at 2 p.m. Later acts include Rise, Tauatage, Danz y Color, Hakan and Kargi.

Saturday brings Mariachi Fuego at noon, Japanese taiko drumming at 1 p.m., Halua, Tutilli Ballet, Divya, Geno and Ballet Folklorico through the afternoon. Callanish, a Utah-based Celtic ensemble that has played Irish and Scottish music on fiddle, flutes, whistles, guitar and bodhrán for more than 25 years, closes the festival with a two-hour set from 6 to 8 p.m.

Art Yard workshops and marketplace

Hands-on projects run both days in the Art Yard. On Friday, photographer and interdisciplinary artist Sara Serratos leads an all-day linocut printmaking workshop. Saturday features an all-day cyanotype session. Both days, visitors can help paint a giant papier-mâché axolotl sculpture created by artist Clara Amezcua.

An open-air artisan marketplace gives regional artists and makers space to demonstrate their processes and sell original work. Food trucks will be on-site throughout the weekend.

BDAC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit at 90 N. Main St. in Bountiful, calls Summerfest its largest annual fundraiser.
