Davis County certifies Nov. 3 ballot with school board races
Davis County Clerk Brian McKenzie certified the Nov. 3 general election ballot on Aug. 31, locking in four contested Davis School Board seats, two statewide constitutional amendments, a $16.5 million Kaysville fire station bond and dozens of other races.

Steve Matheson, a Bountiful father of four, was killed Saturday, Aug. 29, after being struck by lightning while jet skiing near Fort De Soto Park in Florida. Friends created a GoFundMe to help return his body to Utah.

A 36-year-old parolee faces attempted murder and other felony charges after police say he shot a man twice in the abdomen at a North Salt Lake trailer park on Aug. 21, then evaded a multi-agency manhunt for five days before being tasered and booked into the Davis County Jail without bail.
