South Davis Metro Fire's Board of Trustees will take up a potential expansion of Station 81 in Bountiful at its Monday, Sept. 21 meeting.

The posted agenda lists four items not seen at previous board meetings: a Station 81 expansion request for proposals, an EMS Licensure RFP, a Davis County interlocal agreement and a Weber County intercounty agreement. Fire Chief Jeff Larsen is set to present all four.

Station 81, at 255 South 100 West in Bountiful, serves as the district's headquarters. The agenda does not detail the scope or estimated cost of the proposed expansion, and no supporting documents were publicly available as of Friday, Sept. 18. The EMS Licensure RFP likewise lacks published details.

The two interlocal agreements are also undefined in public documents. The Weber County item is notable because South Davis Metro Fire's six member communities — Bountiful, Centerville, North Salt Lake, West Bountiful, Woods Cross and unincorporated Davis County — all sit within Davis County.

What a formal agreement with Weber County would cover has not been disclosed.

The board will also hear an Administrative Committee update from Bryce Haderlie. A board subcommittee has been reviewing the committee's role and is expected to recommend changes, according to a Bountiful City Council staff report dated Sept. 15.

That governance review drew attention at an Aug. 11 Bountiful City Council work session. Mayor Kate Bradshaw said at that meeting that "South Davis is the only district that is set up with both an Administrative Committee and a Board of Directors" and said the structure was contributing to unnecessary stress for leadership and dissuading people from working there.

Details remain thin.

Other agenda items include a 2025–26 audit update from board member Jessica Hardy, August disbursements, a chairman's report and operations reports from Chief Larsen.
