State Rep. Paul Cutler will take questions from the public Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Davis County Library headquarters in Farmington.
The town hall, listed on the library's event calendar, will include presentations followed by a question-and-answer session. The library noted the event is not library-sponsored. It takes place in the auditorium at 133 S. Main St.
Cutler, a Republican representing Utah House District 18, was elected in 2022. He serves as vice chair of the House Economic Development & Workforce Services Committee. Before joining the Legislature, he spent 12 years as Centerville mayor and city councilman.
The Farmington session is the third town hall Cutler has held in Davis County this fall. He appeared at the library's Centerville branch on Sept. 8 and joined a multi-legislator town hall at the same Farmington library on Sept. 29.
During the 2026 legislative session, Cutler sponsored House Bill 381, the Electric Mobility Device Amendments, which clarifies definitions of personal electric vehicles and creates a safety course for minors riding them. Parts of the bill took effect May 6, though its youth safety-course requirement begins May 5, 2027. As we reported Oct. 6, e-scooter injuries in Utah surged 92% last year. Cutler also co-sponsored Senate Bill 275 with Sen. Kirk Cullimore to create a state-run digital identity program.
At the Feb. 24 Bountiful City Council meeting, Mayor Kate Bradshaw praised Cutler's work on the e-bike bill. She said it had passed committee unanimously and had one more vote on the Senate floor.
Cutler has appeared before Farmington's City Council in past years to discuss legislative priorities including housing affordability, water conservation, the Great Salt Lake, air quality and UTA transit. Those issues could surface again.
The town hall comes four weeks before the Nov. 3 general election, when Cutler faces Democratic challenger Scott Troxel for the District 18 seat, according to the 2026 Utah Voter Information Pamphlet.
Residents who cannot attend can reach Cutler's legislative office at (801) 538-1029 or [email protected].
