Davis County residents can watch election workers test ballot-counting machines Friday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m. in Farmington. The public test is one of two events the Davis County Clerk's Office is holding before the Nov. 3 general election.
The pre-election Logic and Accuracy Test checks every piece of tabulation equipment and voting device the county will use on Election Day. Utah law requires the test before any ballots are counted. Staff from the Clerk's Office and a representative of the Board of Canvass run the process, which verifies that machines accurately detect overvotes and undervotes and that firmware matches state-certified versions.
The test takes place in Room 202 of the Davis County Administration Building, 61 South Main St., Farmington. It is open to the public, candidates and their representatives, according to the county's October newsletter.
Five days later, the Clerk's Office hosts an Election Integrity and Security Town Hall and Tour on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m. at the same building. The Clerk's Office said topics will include voter registration, system safeguards and ballot audits.
Residents can attend in person or virtually.
County Clerk Brian McKenzie's office held the same pair of events in October 2025 at the Farmington location. Last year's Logic and Accuracy Test, conducted Oct. 10, 2025, found all equipment performed accurately, according to the county's canvass report.
The Clerk's Office said vote-by-mail ballots will begin arriving in mailboxes Tuesday, Oct. 13. The voter registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 23. Early voting runs Oct. 27–30 in Farmington, and all mail ballots must reach the Clerk's Office or an official drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The League of Women Voters of Davis County is also hosting Meet the Candidate forums for county, legislative and school board races, available live or as recordings online.
Residents with questions about either event can call the Clerk's Office at 801-451-3537 or visit the county elections calendar.
