Sixteen performers, four hands-on cultural workshops, food trucks, and an artisan market will fill Bountiful City Park on Friday, Aug. 7, and Saturday, Aug. 8, as the Bountiful Davis Art Center celebrates 50 years with its flagship Summerfest Folk & Heritage Arts festival.

The two-day event runs noon to 8 p.m. each day at 400 N. 200 W. Admission is free.

The 2026 theme is "E Pluribus Unum — Out of Many, One," tying into the nationwide America 250 commemoration. BDAC, a nonprofit founded in 1974 at 90 N. Main St. in Bountiful, has offered free gallery admission since its founding. Executive Director Sarina Ehrgott oversees the organization's programming.

Davis County commissioners approved a $7,000 Discover Davis sponsorship of BDAC on Tuesday, Aug. 4, including $2,500 as a Silver Sponsor of Summerfest. That sponsorship gives Discover Davis a dedicated booth at the festival both days, logo placement on all event signage, and a stage thank-you.

What to expect

The Davis Journal reported 16 performers will share their cultures through song and dance across the weekend. The full lineup is posted at bdac.org/summerfest.

Four Heritage Arts Workshops invite attendees to learn directly from master artists and cultural practitioners:

• K-Pop Tiger — blending traditional Korean folk painting (Minhwa) with K-pop animation style
• Lei Making — Hawaiian haku lei braiding, a technique traditionally used at weddings and celebrations
• Champarrado Zoque-Maya Chocolate-Making — a 1.5-hour immersion in ancestral chocolate-making traditions
• Henna — led by a local artist with more than 20 years of experience

Families can also drop into the Art Yard, a free hands-on creative area for children, teens, and adults. Food trucks and an artisan marketplace featuring handmade goods and live demonstrations round out the festival.

Kickoff event Thursday night

A Summerfest Eve kickoff begins Thursday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m. at Bountiful City Park, according to the city's official Facebook page. The America 250 Celebration will feature a Navajo Drum Circle and Dance.
