South Davis Metro Fire's Board of Trustees will consider buying a new Battalion Chief truck, surplusing older vehicles, and signing a lease for a modular building when it meets Monday, Aug. 31, at 4 p.m.

The meeting takes place at Station 81, 255 South 100 West in Bountiful. Residents can also attend remotely via Microsoft Teams.

All four action items on the agenda are presented by Fire Chief Jeff Larsen. They include declaring district vehicles surplus, purchasing a new Battalion Chief truck, entering a lease agreement with Mobile Modular for a portable building, and upgrading the district's door access system. The agenda does not list specific costs or vehicle details for any of the four items, nor does it state what the leased structure would be used for.

The board will also hear an Administrative Committee update from Todd Godfrey. The board created a subcommittee to review the committee's role in district governance. City managers from Bountiful, Centerville, North Salt Lake, West Bountiful, Woods Cross and Davis County serve on the Administrative Committee.

Monday's meeting is the board's last scheduled session before a Sept. 1 deadline it set in a June 15 resolution for adopting its final FY27 budget and property tax rate. For the average Bountiful-area home assessed at $623,000, the increase would add about $28.81 per year to the South Davis Metro Fire portion of the tax bill. Whether the board will vote on the final rate Monday has not been confirmed.
