Farmington Jr High boys basketball tryouts are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7. Students without a current physical on file will be turned away.
The school listed the tryout details on its website, giving families until Oct. 7 to get paperwork in order. Tryouts run from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m.
Two optional open gym and conditioning sessions come first: Friday, Oct. 2, from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m., and Monday, Oct. 5, during the same window. Both are voluntary but give players a chance to get moving before the formal evaluation.
What families need to do
Every student trying out must have a physical exam dated within the past year on file through Register My Athlete before Oct. 7. The UHSAA pre-participation form requires the exam be performed by a board-certified MD, DO, physician's assistant, nurse practitioner, or doctor of chiropractic.
Three documents must be completed before tryout day: a parent consent form, the physical evaluation, and a medical history form. Students who show up Oct. 7 without the paperwork will not be allowed to participate.
The school's announcement directs questions to Coach King at [email protected].
Last season's backdrop
The program enters the 2026–27 season with momentum. Davis School District's community relations office noted on X in November 2025 that Farmington Jr High clinched the district junior high boys basketball championship, beating the Shoreline Sharks.
