Woods Cross City wants every household to hang a door hanger on its front door for two hours on Nov. 12 as part of an emergency preparedness communication drill.
The city posted the announcement on its website, asking residents to display the hanger between 5 and 7 p.m. that Thursday. Volunteers will tally the door hangers during that window and report the counts back to the city to simulate a real emergency scenario.
The orientation of the hanger does not matter, the city said. The goal is full participation from every household.
Residents are also asked to keep the door hanger after the drill wraps up. The city said it should be saved for future drills and actual emergencies.
The city's alert does not name a specific department coordinating the exercise or a point of contact for questions. Residents can check woodscross.gov for updates.
