North Salt Lake residents can meet police officers, watch a K-9 demonstration, pick up back-to-school resources, and grab a free hot dog all in one stop on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Legacy Park.
The city is hosting "NSL Nights Out: Back to School Celebration" from 5 to 8 p.m. at the park, 1140 W. 1100 North. Three events run simultaneously: the North Salt Lake Police Department's Night Out Against Crime, a back-to-school resource fair, and a health fair sponsored by the city's Health & Wellness Committee.
The police department's portion features a meet-and-greet with officers and a K-9 demonstration, along with food trucks, local vendors, and music round out the evening.
Organizers are asking families to bring basic school supplies to donate. All support is welcomed and encouraged.
The health fair gives residents a chance to connect with local wellness resources, though the city has not released a full list of participating organizations. The entire evening is free and open to all.
Legacy Park's splash pad will also be open during the event. It runs Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., through Labor Day.
