Canyon Creek School in Farmington is the highest-ranked elementary school in the Bountiful-Farmington corridor, according to U.S. News & World Report's latest elementary school rankings.
The school placed No. 48 among 598 ranked elementary schools in Utah and No. 4 in Davis School District. It earned an overall score of 92.13 out of 100. Sixty-eight percent of Canyon Creek students scored at or above the proficient level in math, and 61% reached that mark in reading. Both figures top the Davis District averages of 45% in each subject.

The school's reading and math performance both rated "somewhat above expectations" when U.S. News compared actual scores against predicted results based on student demographics.
Other local schools
Valley View School and Boulton School, both in Bountiful, also appeared in the Davis District elementary rankings. Knowlton School in Farmington, with 663 students and a 24-to-1 student-teacher ratio, ranked further down the district list.
Not every local campus fared as well. Orchard School in North Salt Lake ranked No. 230 statewide, according to its U.S. News profile. Its math proficiency rate was 51% and reading proficiency was 49%. The school enrolls 581 students and has a 21-to-1 student-teacher ratio. Eighteen percent of Orchard students are economically disadvantaged, triple Canyon Creek's rate.
Meadowbrook School in Bountiful ranked No. 390, according to its U.S. News profile. Only 33% of its students scored proficient in math and 37% in reading, both below the district and state averages. Meadowbrook enrolls 42% economically disadvantaged students, the highest share among the local schools reviewed.
The gap between Canyon Creek and Meadowbrook illustrates a pattern across Davis District: schools with lower shares of economically disadvantaged students posted higher proficiency rates and higher rankings.
A data caveat
Utah was one of 10 states whose rankings were not updated for the 2027 edition, according to the U.S. News methodology page. The state lacked usable assessment data for the latest cycle. Utah's rankings carry forward from the 2026 edition, which relied on 2022-2023 math scores and 2020-2021 reading scores. The data behind these rankings is three to five years old.
