Seventh and eighth graders at Farmington Junior High who failed a core class in Term 1 can sign up for a two-week after-school credit recovery program.

The school posted details on the Farmington Junior High website. Sessions run Oct. 26 through Nov. 6, Monday through Friday, from 3 to 4 p.m. in Room 206. There will be no session on Oct. 30.

The program covers four core subjects: math, English, science and history. Students who received a failing grade in any of those classes during Term 1 are eligible.

Parents can see exactly where their child stands starting Wednesday, Oct. 21, when first-term grades go live on myDSD, the Davis School District's online parent portal.

Pre-registration is required. Families can sign up through an online form linked on the school's website.

The school ran a similar after-school credit recovery program in January.

Ninth graders will follow a different process. Counselors will contact ninth-grade students who need to recover Term 1 credits to stay on track for graduation. Those students and their parents will hear directly from counselors about available options, the school said.

Families with questions about credit recovery can contact Assistant Principal Layne Carter at [email protected].
