Davis County commissioners are set to vote Tuesday, Aug. 4 on a $1,819,725 contract to build a new Health Department Technical Center in Farmington.

The deal with Stout Building Contractors, LLC, a Bountiful-based firm, would cover general contractor services for the facility, according to the commission's public agenda packet. The contract runs through July 31, 2027, giving the project a roughly 12-month construction window.

Lane Rose, director of Davis County Facilities, recommended the contract.

The health department currently operates a Technical Center at 520 Old Mill Lane in Kaysville. The agenda does not specify what programs the new Farmington facility will house or provide a street address for the site.

About the contractor

Stout Building Contractors is headquartered at 1113 South 500 West in Bountiful and specializes in commercial construction including medical offices and schools. The firm completed the University of Utah Farmington Health Center OR 3 & 4 Build Out in 2024, an $870,000 healthcare project that required strict infection-control protocols. Also on the agenda

Commissioners are also set to approve a $7,000 sponsorship agreement with the Bountiful Davis Arts Center at 90 N. Main St. in Bountiful. The funding covers 2026 programming including gallery sponsorship, Summerfest, Main Street Stroll support, and the Gingerbread Festival/Winter Art Market through Dec. 31. The nonprofit draws more than 300,000 visitors annually.
