Bountiful families with babies and toddlers can sign up for a free nine-week parenting workshop at Meadowbrook Elementary School starting Friday, Sept. 18.

The Baby & You program, run by Davis School District, is open to parents, grandparents, foster parents and any caregiver of a child ages 0 to 3. Participants who complete the series may be eligible to earn up to $500 toward their child's my529 college savings account, Utah's state-sponsored 529 plan, according to the district. The exact eligibility requirements have not been specified.

The Bountiful cohort meets Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Meadowbrook Elementary, 695 N. 325 W., running through Nov. 20. Children can attend with their caregivers, and breakfast is provided at each session.

A second cohort meets at the Davis Community Learning Center in Clearfield, 210 E. Center St., starting Wednesday, Sept. 16 through Nov. 18 on the same 9:30 a.m. to noon schedule.

What the workshops cover

Sessions focus on child development, social-emotional learning, health and safety, and hands-on strategies for supporting a child's growth at home.
